Hello everyone, and welcome to my (un)official Thunder breaker guide !

Note : never made a guide so I hope u all get some knowledge out of this thread.

introduction

Has u may or may not know who am I, my IGN is Hawkeye and I'm the rank 1 Thunder-breaker in Croosade and I would love to enlighten you all about the class.
This guide will be a my way guide on TB, that include leveling guide as I did it to get to 120, Q&A about this class My own Opinion, pros and cons etc.

Note: I never played any pre big bang server before Croosade, so this guide is only based on my experience and my love to this class, even if u don't agree with me remember this is an opinion guide, the guide will be for the most part as professional as possible but a lot of the time I will be myself and talk straight to the point - no crap.

Lets go.

The Cygnus Knights classes and Thunder Breaker.

I get asked a lot, why even u want to play KOC if they only get to 120?! To that i will start with the pros and cons of KOC in general.

Note: I joined Croosade and quit GMS just and only because I was so desperate to play my KOC again. KOC for me are the bread and butter of Maplestory and I more then just love playing them.

PROS :

1. KOC are maybe the best class for getting to know the game and start off playing and getting a good taste of Maplestory because of there really fast growing potential, if you didnt know, KOC gets 10% free exp every time they level up until 120, this system really motivates you to level up more and not giving up.

2. KOC are like an improve version of explorers and there skills are very flashy \ beautiful looking skills while still keeping the style of a classic Maplestory class.
KOC special and unique abilities are super useful and are not just for the looks.

3.I don't care what you think, the little shiny orb you get at first job is sooo sexy and nice and cool looking while really helps you in combat at low levels and 1- 2 job.

4. Cygnus knights mounts are one of the best, explorers gets a pig and you get a freaking ostrich ! at lv 120 u get a mount that explorers gets at 200, while they are riding a fat red dragon, you ride on a baby royal Shinsoo that looks amazing.

5. KOC Gets echo at lv 120. ( just saying...)

6. KOC have there own story-line, place ( Erev ) and overall theme so you will feel like a royal knight while playing does classes. (Even when u do your first mount skill Neinheart tells you a knight like you shouldn't walk on his own feet :D )

7. Even the job instructors are dope as fuck, comon guys, Dark lord vs Freaking Eckhart.

8. Until lv 70 u get 6 AP instead of the usual 5. ( 60 lvs of plus one AP divided by 5 its like 12 levels of free AP.)

9. Erev got a knight chamber which showcase all the knights that reached max level. U can be at the chamber as well once you get to 120, for me its a huge sign of respect once you see your character in there and everyone of passed by will see your character plus your IGN of course.

10. ULTIMATE ADVENTURE - yeaaa..we don't talk about it here..RIP.

CONS :

1. The big one is obviously that you only get to level 120. plus the rates of the server and the 10% bonus exp every level and the connection you build with your class, its like a shock that suddenly you don't get to level up, but you should know what are the consequences before starting to play any class. Plus as I heard after 120 its really hard to level and there isn't must spot to grind at in the cornet state of the game after 120.

2. Because UA aren't available ( please make me a miracle ) for a lot of players leveling up a KOC could seem pointless if they don't really really love the class.

3.Even if UA are a thing, this is still pre bb i wont be getting to 120 in 4 hours, there for after getting to 120 ( that wil take you some time ) you may feel like you wasted your time because there isn't a reward at the end or a big change etc. ( UA were suppose to be the reward but as for now there is no reward or a really huge goal.)

Now you beautiful mofos lets get to the point. Thunder breaker.

Ill start off again with pros and cons to this class only, from there we will go to skills AP and SP build.

Pros :

1. TB have everything a class needs plus they have the best of all worlds, the damage of warriors , speed of a thief , range of an archer , and durability and flashiness of mages.

2. I mean if you think of it, in 1 I said everything in one line. but there dmg is really good and they scale really wonderful even if unfunded.

3. Before 3rd job you really don't have range but , you got awesome skills that will help you get the monsters close and together to blast off with powerful attacks.

4. TB gets SI at level 110 and the duration is the same as for a max lv 30 SI of Bucc.

5. Except from mages with there ultimate, the combination of there skills buffs and really high attack speed makes them a HUGE farmers and an ultimate class for mobing.

6. They get the barrage skill as of level 100, so they have there boss side covered.

7. Power blast ( energy ball) as an OP scale witch helps you kill even the strongest of monsters before you get sharks.

8. Nemo and friends, AKA one of the most op, bad ass and cool flashy looking skills in the game. U literally Throwing 3 big electric sharks. what more can ask for.

9. In transform mode you get so much speed and jump you don't even need a mount or haste.

Cons :

1. This class is like late game, which is funny because there isn't a late game, its a KOC, yet you get the power the speed the range etc as the game progress, it can be a pro but the point is first and early second job can be a little hard.

2. As for pirate in general you aren't the most tanky class and even tho in 3rd job you can hit monsters from afar tho still gets hit by a lot of dmg, before 3rd job you must tank the touch damage from mobs, which in the end cost you in pots and money wasted, can be hard to play early if you really have no mesos at all.

3. what can I say TB are OP AF don't expect a lot of cons.

SKILL POINT Guide for 1st job.

My SP guide are on point, I don't really like the each level do this and that. play the game as you wish, but this is a MY WAY so heres quick guide as i did it at first job.

Put 1 point at backflip once you get to 1st job.
when you level up put 1 point at dash for mobility and the rest put at kelvin.
Max kelvin as soon as possible for a better help in combat, after that max your back-flip if you still need help in killing mobs,
if you doing good with kelvin then max dash and then back-flip, if you max back-flip first go to max dash, somewhere put 1 point at at one punch man skill to give you more option to attack the monster so u wont get bored. after that max your quick motion, and all the rest of the points give to one punch man.

TL; DR - the result should be all skills max except one punch man fist.

SKILL POINT Guide for 2nd job.

2nd job is kinda weird at first , put on point at push skill. and then put 1 point at energy blast and from now on put all the points at energy charge until u max it.
after put 5 points at mastery to unlock booster, put 10 points at booster, and max mastery , max lightning charge and then max booster, then max improve max hp and all the rest will go to push skill.

TL;DR - All skills max except push skill that will be at level 11.

3rd job and SP guide MY WAY

SKILL POINT Guide for 3rd job.

Well, there are so many good skills at 3rd job, let me give you a hand and help you a bit.

The first point is going to Nemo and friends ( NAF at short), once u level put 1 point at transform, 1 at spark and 1 at Nemo and friends.
Then max transform ( reason is that its only level 10 and you get so much from that skill plus, at first energy blast will be stronger then shark attack, so you will use shark attack to charge your energy ball mostly at first ) after that max your sharks until they are level 30 ! and then max spark, u can add 1 points in drain if u want to have some fun, but max crit, after that dont put any SP, save them , Right now u should have nemo, crit, spark and trans max, once you are 100 get barrage and max it out, after you finish hold your skills again until 110 to max SI as soon as you get it, after that max drain and all the rest at shock wave.

TL;DR - everything max but that crappy shock wave.

AP Guide MY Way

OK so, I'm not a pro at AP build but what I did is follow the auto assigned bottom and always kept watch that my dex is in my level. The goal is to get to 100 dex to get that level 100 weapon, try making one or buying one, scroll for knuckle 60% aren't that expensive. and some quests gives Knuckle for attack 60%.

once u get to 100 put all the AP at STR.

Training guide MY WAY.

This training guide is the way I get to level 120. Yes, I used 2x when ever i could and got the points for, its good to use it when you know u have like a lot of free time to max the potential from the coupon.

10-30 - I did all the job quests ( not the Cygnus once ) to get level 30 fast and get the demon hat. ( 12 dex means i can put more AP in STR because the goal is to get 100)

30-38/40ish - Mush kingdom, try doing all the quests really this place is amazing.

40-50 - CD's at kerning mall. flat map nice to use the push skill. (Have not done the quest line because I was too lazy, it gives nice earring tho) at does levels I also did alot of the ludi quests just because i felt like that and alot of the quests gives good rewards. A lot of the levels I did a mix of alot of things.

50-70 - when i felt like grinding or there was no one to do pq's with I went to MP3 at Singapore, went I wanted to really rush my levels I did LMPQ for tons of EXP.

70-83 - Wind raiders ( ask for someone to tp to and save the map) ( at that point I used my first 2x)

83-92 - Wolf spiders ( you really need to learn the map before you start grinding there, plus I do not think WS are for everyone but for TB especially in Transform its amazing.

92-120 - Gallos, used every 2x that I could, when I was needed to go work or study I went for leech when possible. ( do not use 2x while leeching, not worth it )

As you can see I didn't really do a lot of things, I basically grind and grind and grind no stop. I don't think its something I would do again but at that time I was racing to rank 1.

Q&A

These are some questions I got ask alot while playing and while chilling.

Q: How much time it took you to get to level 120.
A: 10 days

Q: Was it hard leveling up ?
A: I wouldn't say hard, but because I was racing I grind non stop to the point I wouldn't felt my eyes.

Q: who you raced vs?
A: Southpaw from the guild leaf if I recall correctly.

Q: Was the race close?
A: well when I started playing TB southpaw was rank 1 at around level 87. But he was UN- active or just wasn't feeling the grind, once I catch him In levels I notice he is starting to level as well. So I knew it is now a race, so I push myself as hard as I could even if I didn't wanted to play right now. at the last levels, he did the same and it was very closed, I was rank 1 at level 112 and he was rank 2 at level 111. In the end I got 120 when he got around 115.

Q: Why TB?
A: why not? I love all KOC tbh, my first player in the server was a BW but i wasnt feeling mages, my love will always be for pirates and KOC so with TB I can have the best of all worlds.

Q: Got any plans after getting to 120?
A: Well, at first I was thinking of maining my TB. But after awhile it wasn't really feeling nice when I couldn't level. I now use Hawkeye as a signature class for me and a farming class to farm scrolls and books and when I feel like chilling.

Q: Maining a KOC?
A: YES, I think if you love a class go for it, who the fuck cares, as long as you enjoy it then why not. You saw all the pros about the KOC :D

Q: Any new class ?
A: Yep, not official main but I started playing a corsair , his name is sair if you want to add to your BL, rn im level 41 and really taking things slow, just enjoying the road. things would be much easier If we got UA then I could make Hawkeye's legacy.

Q: Are you funded? selling gear?
A: Hell the fuck not, Im not funded at all. I got my demon hat, maple leaf from Gach, overall level 90 clean I found boots level 50 clean and my level 100 weapon I bought clean and scrolled with 60, It has 89 attack and I would sell it maybe after I officially retire this class.

Q: Do TB better then bucc?
A: well Bucc can get to 200 so there u have it but, until 120 TB will be so much better while Bucc getting there spotlight at 4th job.

Q: If you could open a UA what would u choose?
A: even tho I love pirates to death, I would really want to play a UA BM just becuase I never played Archers and I think they are hard to level at first.

In - conclusion

If any of you have more questions or things to improve feel free to leave them below, it took me 3.5 hours straight to write all this so I hope you enjoy this guide, I hope you learn something and Thank you all for taking the time to read my writing.

Yes, that's a good point but I prefer going for the more damage route as it provides me with faster leveling throughout the early levels of 2nd job, which are BTW aren't that easy at all because your damage isn't the best, energy ball and blast really helps even the unfunded get stronger and level up faster, note your self that if that was a Bucc guide I would probably max this skill first, but since its a TB and u don't really play to the real end game game-play it isn't as necessary. TY for reading my guide.

A friend told me Corkscrew Blow doesn't seem to work on the server currently. Is this true or was it simply him being bugged out / not able to use it? I suppose it being maxed last it might not matter much, would this be the case?

As for first, you max the ability last because u only needs it for the utility it provides. Your damage in 2nd job will not come from this ability, and yes, ability works perfectly. Remeber to use the tips I gave about the skill to max its potential at combat. Ty for the comment.

if u make an cygnus , the explorer will get skill advanced blessing 20watt/matt?
The only skill you get called " blessing of the fairy " which at max gives you 20 wa/ma. Sience Cygnus are up to 120. This skill will be max at level 12, aka 12 wa/ma. Its alot easier to level up a cygnus to 120 then an explorer, thats why alot of people opening a Cygnus so they can get +12 wa/ma asap.

There’s too much bias in this guide :/. You haven’t went over any of the cons of a TB or went in depth on the huge draw back of being level capped at 120.

Sure thing dude,
The knight chamber is the hall of honor for Cygnus knights, it divided into 3 floors on top of each other and its there to showcase the best Cygnus knights according to ranks.

There's only two requirements in order to get there :
1) you need to be 120.
2) you must complete the 4th job advancement.

After that you need to talk to the guardian, (the bird dude on the right.) In the HOH (hall of honor AKA knight chamber) in order to be put in.

Note : things you need to keep in mind.

After your registration is complete your character will display itself only after reset and not immediately.
Seconed, the spot you'll be getting is based on your rank as a Cygnus knight as a whole, it shares between all the Cygnus knights, that's why I'm rank one thunder breaker but I got the 10th spot.

That's why the most important thing to keep in mind is that the spots are limited, meaning if the three floors are filled up the chamber will close.

P:S an empty spot does not necessarily means its an open one, players may not register there koc in but the spot is reserved to them do to ranks.

Sorry for the delay in answer hopefully I gave some insite.
